Friday 29th September 2017 saw the celebration of South West Jump Racing at The McCoy awards. Dresses were donned and champagne was poured as we applauded the talents of last season in the South West. The biggest names in the sport were rewarded, including the Paul Nicholls team, JP McManus, Noel Fehily and Ollie McPhail won the Outstanding Contribution to Racing Award. Equine heroes were also recognised such as Many Clouds and Sizing John to name just a few. The evening celebrated all that is great about racing within the South West, and ended with thoughts turning to future stars and performances. Course favourites, The Chip Shop Boys finished the show off in true Cheltenham style with a dance floor full of racing fans fuelled by excitement for the year ahead.
Running from the start of the season in the region through to 25th May 2017, the South West Jump Awards are destined to be one of the highlights of the Jump racing calendar.
Be it horses, stable staff, trainers or owners, these awards seek to reflect and celebrate outstanding contributions to our sport across Cheltenham, Exeter, Warwick and Wincanton racecourses during the 2016/17 season.
