Lee Moulson

Lee Moulson

Regional Head of Sales - South West

About Me:
I rode as an amateur jockey until I was 23, when I realised I was never going to be the next Tony McCoy. I wanted to do something that would make a difference and keep me close to racecourses, so I did a business management degree with a horseracing industry specialism, and that's when my career began to take shape. My first role for The Jockey Club was on a casual basis at Warwick Racecourse whilst I was in university. I have now been at Cheltenham for 3 and a half years.

Favourite event at Cheltenham:
We were thrilled that our inaugural darts event in association with Modus Darts was so well attended, the atmosphere on the night was electric and it was great to witness members of the general public getting the opportunity to play some of the biggest names in the sport, at the same time raising money for our partners Rugby4Heroes.

Clare Evans

Clare Evans

Regional Conference & Events Manager – South West

About Me:
I have been working for the Jockey Club for just over 3 years. Cheltenham is my home town, even though I've travelled and lived in London, Manchester and New York, there’s no place like home! I grew up 5 minutes away from the course and always dreamed of working here, horse racing was a huge passion as a child as I love horses. I have my own horse a beautiful warmblood called Monty. We compete for fun at dressage, he’s a proper dressage diva, he definitely couldn't do the hill at Cheltenham! Before working for the Jockey Club, I worked at the BBC for 5 years as a production manager, moved into a sales & events role when I moved to Gloucester Rugby where I enjoyed 4 years before getting my dream job at Cheltenham as Regional C&E Manager.

Favourite event at Cheltenham:
My favourite event was the sporting icons dinner, as it was a Cheltenham Racecourse event, not a client, so we had artistic licence to do as we pleased. Finding the guests was not only enjoyable but I think we managed to put together a nice mix of sporting icons, the finished result was a hugely popular night, with dinner, good guests chatting candidly and delivering an entertaining enjoyable event that I’ve been asked many times if we are replicating.

About Me:
I have been with the Jockey Club for 2½ years, I was born and raised in Cheltenham. My background has always been within sales and events, it definitely keeps me on my toes! I am very artistic, in my spare time I love to draw, create wood carvings and cook. I am also attempting to learn how to play the ukulele!

Favourite event at Cheltenham:
It has to be the True Believers Comic Exhibition, the atmosphere on the day was second to none. Year on year the event has grown and we have now secured the event for next year. Being part of a team that contributes to producing fantastic events makes my job so enjoyable.

Rebeca Broadhead

Regional Business Development Executive - South West

About me:
I followed my parents into the industry; after studying Hospitality & Hotel Management, I worked in hotels & pubs around the UK. I moved to York, spent 4 years in sales with a major hotel chain, then 13 years as an Events Agent, booking hotels & unique venues around the world. When I relocated back to the South West in 2018, Cheltenham Racecourse was top of my list, so I feel very lucky to be representing such a prestigious venue. The vast scope for events appeals to my creative nature; in my spare time I love gardening, crafting and baking, as well as singing in the local Rock Choir.

Favourite event at Cheltenham:
Wychwood Festival showcases the versatility of our space, with a full festival site spread across the estate; it’s like a mini Glastonbury! It’s a hugely popular festival, with people travelling from across the UK to attend, and regularly wins awards. Being involved with events like this are what makes the job so engaging; plus, it usually falls near my birthday, so it’s a great excuse to attend, as well!

About Me:
I have worked at the Jockey Club for about 2 and a half years now - Previously in the sales coordination team. I went to New Zealand for a couple of months and lived in a car and climbed lots of beautiful mountains. I then decided to embark on a career in event sales! This is my first sales job and I’m so excited to start my career amongst the amazing sales team here at Cheltenham!
My parents own a pub and I have worked there in a part-time capacity for just over 9 years now! In my spare time I enjoy horse racing, motor sports, swimming and exploring new restaurants and bars!

Favourite Event at Cheltenham
The McCoys is definitely one of my favourite events here at Cheltenham! It is the perfect hybrid of the two things we do here best – events and racing! It is a top level award ceremony with regards to the world class racing we experience every year within The Jockey Club. It demonstrates the best of the best and shows off our iconic venue beautifully.
